Darrin Rankin

With over 25 years of insurance experience, Darrin is President of RANKIN INSURANCE GROUP, a leading independent insurance agency located in Huntersville, NC. He began his career in insurance at Erie Insurance as a District Sales Manager before branching off to develop his agency. He is licensed across nine state and represents multiple carriers.

With over 25 years of insurance experience, Darrin is President of RANKIN INSURANCE GROUP, a leading independent insurance agency located in Huntersville, NC. He began his career in insurance at Erie Insurance as a District Sales Manager before branching off to develop his agency. He is licensed across nine state and represents multiple carriers.

Darrin is deeply invested in insurance leadership and education. He has been a dedicated member of NAAIA – National African American Insurance Association for three years. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina, Inc. (IIANC) and the North Carolina Rate Bureau/NC Reinsurance Facility/NC Insurance Guaranty Association. He is also a national faculty member for the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance and lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

His advice to someone considering a career in insurance, “Find an area that really interests you. I teach CE, and I teach pre-licensing and I tell my students that there are some many areas that they can thrive in, once they enter the insurance industry such as Agency, Underwriting, Actuarial, Marketing, IT, Compliance, Claims and so much more. Our industry may appear to be boring to outsiders, but there it never a dull day in insurance, nor a day that I don’t learn something new.”
